Goodbye tonsils!

For the past 4 months or so, poor little Zach's tonsils have decided to get bigger and bigger and bigger. The week before Christmas he started snoring like an old man and talking like he had a cold. They weren't really making him sick, but he was having trouble sleeping and hearing. We took him in and were told that not only were his tonsils ginormous but his ears were full of fluid. So we got the ok to get it all taken care of. Last Thursday he went in to get out his tonsils and adenoids out and tubes put in. Surgery went great. He was eating and drinking good in the hospital so they let us go home. That night he had a few popsicles and some ramen noodles, but he threw it right up. After that he wouldn't touch a thing. The next morning he was miserable and wouldn't drink anything or take his medicine. Right as we were getting ready to haul him back to the hospital to get him pumped full of more fluids he gave in and took some medicine. After that he was fine. It was an adventure for sure but Zach is a new little man and back to his old self.

Our brave little boy

He even helped pull out his I.V.

OH, that is such a challenge. Sadie had hers taken out a year and a half ago, and I'll tell ya what, she has not been sick ONCE since. And she was ALWAYS sick. I really hope this helps Zach the same. The recovery was hard, but it sounds like you guys are almost over that obstacle. Good luck with that!
